The much-anticipated Flavours of Nigeria Festival will return for its second edition on August 9, 2025, promising an even more vibrant celebration of Nigerian culture, food, music, and creativity.

In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja, Festival Curator, Mr. Chukwuebuka Anyaduba, said the festival will take place at Gage Park in Brampton, Ontario, bringing together diverse audiences for a day of immersive cultural exchange and celebration.

This year’s theme, “A Cultural Voyage,” captures the essence of the festival’s mission—to transport attendees through the sights, sounds, and tastes of Nigeria’s rich heritage. More than just an event, Flavours of Nigeria is a cultural experience aimed at showcasing the depth of Nigerian traditions while strengthening ties between Nigeria and Canada through cultural diplomacy and tourism promotion.

Organisers say senior government officials from Nigeria and Canada will attend the festival, underscoring its growing significance as a platform for bilateral cultural and economic collaboration.

Festival Highlights Include “Naija Brunch: Flavours & Royalty,” a regal culinary experience inspired by Benin Royalty, featuring fine Nigerian cuisine in an ambience of elegance and tradition.

“Nigerian Folklore for Kids – Engaging storytelling and interactive sessions designed to pass on Nigeria’s oral traditions and values to younger generations.

“Live Musical Performances – A lineup of top Nigerian Afrobeat and traditional music artists delivering electrifying performances across generations.

“Cultural Showcase & Masquerade Parade – A visually stunning display of Nigerian culture through dance, traditional costumes, and iconic masquerade performances.

“Fashion & Craft Marketplace “ is A Nigerian creativity exhibition featuring handcrafted fashion, jewellery, and accessories by emerging and established designers.

“Gastronomy Pavilion – A flavorful journey through Nigeria’s culinary landscape, offering beloved dishes such as jollof rice, suya, puff-puff, moimoi, and more.

“This event promises more than just entertainment—it offers an immersive experience that lets attendees see, taste, and feel Nigeria in one vibrant space,” he said.

Speaking from Canada, Ambassador Akin Oduntan, Co-Curator, emphasised that the event “will showcase the Nigerian spirit of creativity, unity, and resilience on an international stage.”
