The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has lauded President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to democratic values and national development, as Nigeria marks the 2025 Democracy Day.

In a statement yesterday, Maikalangu praised the president for entrenching the rule of law, promoting freedom of speech, and ensuring that Nigerians enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Maikalangu stated, “In 26 years of our democracy, we are fortunate to have a leader like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who has been part of this journey from the beginning.

“He has ensured that Nigerians experience the true meaning of democracy through good governance and development.”

The AMAC chairman highlighted the president’s inclusive leadership style, noting that minority voices are heard and constructive criticism is welcomed.

“President Tinubu means progress for Nigeria, and his Renewed Hope Agenda deserves widespread support,” he added.

Maikalangu also commended the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his collaboration with the president in transforming Abuja.

“We are lucky to have Barrister Wike working closely with Mr. President to drive development in the FCT. Today, the capital city is witnessing massive infrastructural upgrades, all thanks to their visionary leadership,” he said.

Reaffirming his council’s dedication to service, Maikalangu assured AMAC residents of continued efforts to improve their welfare.

“Our focus remains on providing essential amenities and ensuring that development reaches every corner of the municipality,” he said.

As the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in AMAC, Maikalangu called for unity among party members ahead of future elections.

“Together, we will secure victory and sustain the progress initiated by President Tinubu’s administration,” he said.
