Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will strike “every site and every target” of Iran, after Iran launched waves of missiles in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Friday.
The Israeli military also said the Air Force was carrying out extensive strikes in various areas of Iran.
The military said it was striking Iran and had hit more than 150 targets in the past 24 hours as at yesterday afternoon.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has threatened a “more severe” response if Israel continues its attacks.
The UK is sending more jets to the Middle East for contingency support across the region, Keir Starmer said after Iran warned the UK, US and France that it would target their bases and ships in the region if they help to stop the strikes on Israel.
The strikes came as Washington and Tehran were due to resume talks on Iran’s nuclear programme today, but now, the talks have been cancelled, according to mediator Oman.
