Presiding Apostle of the Macedonia Call Global Assembly, Dr. Osaren Emokpae, has declared a day of fasting and special three-hour intercessory prayer session for Nigeria and its leaders.
The cleric appealed to Nigerians to join the spiritual exercise on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 10: 00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at their various faith centres and locations nationwide.

Emokpae said in a time marked by uncertainty, broken promises and troubling leadership crisis in the country, he was rallying Nigerians to a united act of faith, a national prayer for the country and its leaders.
In a statement he issued yesterday, which was made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Abuja, he said,

“This is not the time for silence or indifference. Too much is at stake: from insurgence in the North to unresolved political tensions in the South, particularly Rivers State, the ongoing dispute in Edo State between the Oba of Benin and his Enogies, to the anxiety surrounding the looming threat of demolitions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). There are also ongoing wars between Israel and its neighbours, as well as that between Ukraine and Russia. We are witnessing a nation and indeed a world in need of divine intervention. It is time to take our burden to the altar.”

Referencing 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Dr. Emokpae reminded Nigerians of the scriptural mandate to pray for those in authority, not as a passive act, but as a proactive step towards peace and stability.

He said, “So much has been happening around the country and its leadership that is quite disheartening. We must lift our leaders in prayer, even when we don’t agree with them, because what happens at the top affects us all. We are praying for wisdom, courage, and integrity in our leadership. But we are also praying against the forces, both seen and unseen, that thrive on chaos and fear.”

The clergyman added that the June 20 prayer gathering is not a protest but a petition to God, stressing, “It is not a political statement, but a spiritual stand for the land. Macedonia Call is here to reinforce the call for daily prayers for the nation (as well as for the world) until the change comes, even thereafter, for a better nation and a peaceful world.

“At its heart is a call that Nigeria can still be a land where leadership works, resources are justly shared, and every citizen can sleep with both eyes closed,” he said.

With Nigeria grappling with a surge of challenges, from insurgency and insecurity to serious deprivation and political instability, Emokpae believes the moment calls not for despair, but for spiritual responsibility and prophetic declarations.

Emokpae asserted that Nigerians deserve more than broken promises and survival, adding that, “we deserve leadership that listens, governance that delivers, and systems that work, not destroyed.”
