Police Arrest Suspected Dealer Over Vandalised Power Equipment In Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Mr. Maduka, for allegedly dealing in vandalised electric equipment.

Maduka, according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, was arrested at Fegge area of Onitsha over the weekend following a tip off.

 

SP Ikenga said bags of vandalised copper wires, large quantities of high tension cables, copper coil, and, some other transformer equipment were recovered from the suspect.

The Anambra police spokesperson said Maduka has confessed during investigation about where he sells the items in Ogun and Lagos states.

 

The PPRO said that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu has directed the operatives to expand investigation into the incident to ensure that all those involved in the alleged crime were arrested and made to face the full weight of the law.
