Yobe Medical Ambulance Service Saves Over 2,000 Lives In 2 Years – Danchua

The Yobe State Emergency Medical Ambulance Services (YEMABUS) has saved over 2,000 lives in the last two years, significantly improving access to emergency healthcare across the state.

The executive secretary of YEMABUS, Abdullahi Danchua who stated this said the agency which operates under the Yobe State Government, responded to more than 2,300 emergency calls within the period, delivering life-saving care to communities that previously lacked immediate medical attention.

Danchuwa has in an exclusive interview with Channels Television, revealed that maternal and newborn cases represented a substantial portion of the agency’s efforts.

He said, “Maternal and newborn cases accounted for more than half of our 2,300+ emergency responses.

“These timely interventions have saved countless lives and provided vital relief to families statewide,” the ES stated.

He further said the 24/7 service utilizes a fleet of fully equipped ambulances manned by trained medical professionals, ensuring prompt response even in remote areas.

Danchuwa said the initiative has earned widespread praise, especially among residents in rural communities who now experience reduced delays in accessing emergency care.

“Residents have praised the service as transformative, particularly for expectant mothers and accident victims who previously faced dangerous delays in receiving medical attention,” Danchua added.

The ES stated that YEMABUS forms part of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s broader agenda to strengthen Yobe State’s healthcare system adding that the administration has invested in upgrading ambulances and training emergency personnel to improve service delivery and efficiency.

As the service marks its growing impact, Danchua reaffirmed YEMABUS’ commitment to expanding coverage across the state.

He also called on communities to support its operations by promptly reporting emergencies and ensuring the safety of responders, reiterating that with thousands of lives already saved, the agency is emerging as a benchmark in emergency healthcare delivery for other states to emulate.
