The CP, who made the promise yesterday in Maiduguri while addressing command personnel on his assumption of office as the 43rd Commissioner of Police in the State, urged personnel to remain professional, disciplined, and committed to the police’s core values.

He warned officers that corruption, human rights abuses, and unethical conduct will not be tolerated, reminding them that together,  the Command will raise the bar of excellence in service delivery.

The CP said, ” It is with a deep sense of duty, humility, and honour that I address you today as I have assumed office as the 43rd Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command. I thank the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for the trust reposed in me to lead this Command at such a critical time in our state’s history.

” Let me begin by acknowledging the efforts and accomplishments of my predecessor, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, whose leadership and service left a solid foundation for continued progress. I wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

” To the good people of Borno State, I want to assure you that I am here to serve with dedication, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to peace and security. This Command under my leadership will adopt a professional, intelligence-led, and community-oriented policing approach that will address the unique security challenges facing our state.

” Borno has shown remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. I am fully aware of the complex security landscape, and I assure you that we will work relentlessly to sustain and improve the gains recorded in the fight against crime, insurgency, and other threats to public safety.

” We will enhance visibility policing, strengthen collaboration with sister security agencies, and deepen our partnership with traditional institutions, religious leaders, community groups, and the media. I believe strongly that security is a shared responsibility, and with your support, we can build a safer Borno.”

The Borno new police boss used the opportunity to appeal to the public for cooperation, information sharing, and mutual trust, saying that his doors remain open to suggestions and constructive engagement that will help the police deliver better policing services.

” To the Borno State Command officers and men: the expectations are high. I urge you to remain professional, disciplined, and committed to our core values. Corruption, human rights abuses, and unethical conduct will not be tolerated. Together, we will raise the bar of excellence in service delivery.

“In conclusion, I am optimistic that, working together, we will strengthen public confidence in the police and foster a secure environment where every resident of Borno State can live, work, and thrive in peace,” the CP further said.
