Also speaking, the chairman of the NCAA Sports Club, Sowunmi Abdul-Rasak explained that adequate preparations have been made for a successful event.

He also explained that the competition is part of government’s efforts to ensure that workers are fit enough for their jobs after the office stress.

He said , “There is a body called Federal Public Service Games. It is a sporting body that has all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as members. It is a national umbrella for sports for government workers, which NCAA is one of the members of the body. So it is an umbrella body related to sporting activities. So it’s on this premise that our Director General keyed into to ensure a balanced workforce in terms of the health, the wellness, unity and diversity, and ensuring a balanced workforce is maintained.

“This one, like my director said earlier, is going to be a yearly programme as approved by Director General of NCAA. We have put logistics in place, particularly in case of emergency. We have an ambulance station with paramedics and doctors stationed throughout the event of the programme from the morning to the evening.”

Also speaking, Director, public relations and consumer protection, Michael Achimugu said this is one of the ways the DGCA wants to fulfil the pledge of ensuring a balanced lifestyle for the staff of the agency.

He said the NCAA now has better health insurance packages for its personnel because healthy, productive regulators will make for a better industry.
