Kaduna Polytechnic Governing Council and the institution’s Congregation have made progress at a parley on how to move the tertiary school forward.
The meeting was held at the new Convocation Square of the polytechnic.
At the ceremony, the chairman of the governing council, Senator Muhammed A. Muhammed, stated that the interaction was sequel to his earlier promise during the council maiden meeting that the council under his watch would run an open-door policy, stressing that nobody could do it alone, and no single individual knew it.
Muhammad highlighted some of the achievements recorded by the council and enjoined the staff members to feel free to express their opinions and observations or suggestions that will assist the council in carrying out its activities in the best interest of the polytechnic and Nigeria.
Also, the rector, Dr. Suleiman Umar, commended the chairman and members of the governing council for organising the interactive session and the many laudable achievements the council had recorded within the short period of the commencement of its activities.
Several staff members who bare their minds during the interaction session commended the Council for operating a transparent regime and urged them to continue in that line. Suggestions on best way to move the Polytechnic to higher level were advanced by the staff and the Council and noted same for further necessary action.
The highlights of the occasion, according to the statement issued by Mr Obochi Y. Samuel, deputy registrar, Information and Protocol was the election of Alhaji Ahmad Abdulsalam, as the representative of the congregation, representing the non-teaching staff on the governing council in line with the Federal Polytechnic (Amendment) Act, 2019, following the death of the former occupant, Alhaji Abdullahi Sule Ahmadu, who died on 5th May, 2022.
