FRSC Confirms 4 Dead, 1 Injured In Oyo Multiple Accidents

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that four people lost their lives in an early Tuesday morning multiple accidents along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The FRSC state’s sector commander, Rosemary Alo, who confirmed the incident, which occurred at Soka area in Ibadan, described it as fatal.

She said the accident involved seven vehicles; a Nissan (Micra) with registration number MAP 286 ZY, private Toyota Camry car with registration number KSF 339 DS, commercial
Nissan car with registration number LUY 799, commercial Iveco tanker with registration number BAM 22 XA, commercial
vehicle DAF truck registration number unknown, commercial vehicle truck with registration number T 28238 LA, and a private
Toyota Camry car with registration GGE 90 JX

According to her, four people; one male and three females, were killed while one person (female) was injured and taken to the hospital.

She added that 11 people were involved in the accidents.

She said none of the passengers involved in the accident were saved by seat belt or other defensive gadgets.

Alo said that no item was recovered from the scene of the accident.

She recommended that dĺrivers should desist from excessive speeding and should always embrace defensive driving techniques while on the road.

She explained that the injured victim was rescued by officers from Sanyo Police Station before the arrival of the rescue team while the corpses of the deceased victims were deposited at Adeoyo State Hospital morgue, Ibadan.

However, she said Sanyo Police Division Divisional Transport Officer (DTO), ASP Adesina Oluwole, took charge of accidented vehicles, while one of the corpses was handed over to the relative with the express permission of Sanyo Divisional Police Officer (DPO).
