The organisation also faulted the statement credited to factional leader of Afenifere, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, for the impeachment of President Tinubu over of the construction of Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway.

In a communique made available to LEADERSHIP in Akure, Ondo State by the Publicity Secretary of Osun State Afenifere, Adeyinka Akala, the group demanded the expulsion of Oba Olaitan and his excommunication from Afenifere.

In the communique signed by Afenifere’s National Financial Secretary, Lanre Omisore, and Publicity Secretary, Adeyinka Akala, the group, reaffirmed its loyalty and support to the leadership of Afenifere Worldwide headed by Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

The mainstream Yoruba group also threw its weight behind Tinubu’s policies and the Renewed Hope Agenda for the well-being of the citizens.

According to the communique, “We note with great concern the recent meeting held by Oba Oladipo Olaitan Alaago of Kajola Ijesa in Atakumosa local government in Osun State that without lawful authority, Oba Oladipo Olaitan appointed himself as the purported leader of Afenifere, this is clearly a violation of Afenifere norms and practices which we condemned completely.

“Afenifere Osun State stated that this is an act of gross indiscipline and grave disloyalty to the leader of Afenifere and the general Afenifere leadership

“Furthermore, Oba Oladipo Olaitan recently publicly asked that the president be impeached because of the construction of Lagos – Calabar Coastal highway. We strongly condemned this statement on entirely of any Yoruba man tailless of Yoruba Oba.

“For all these reasons, the entire Afenifere members in Osun State is hereby resolved and agreed to recommend to the national body that Oba Oladipo Olaitan be expelled and excommunicated from Afenifere.

“We call on all security agencies in the state to rise up to their constitutional responsibilities for security of lives and properties of Osun citizens.

“We call on the leadership of Afenifere at the national level to wade into the current local government crises in Osun State and find a lasting solution to it soonest.”

Afenifere called on President Tinubu to extend his development renewal hope to Yoruba land and Osun State in particular in terms of both physical and human development.
