The seasoned cybersecurity expert, speaking on this innovation, remarked: “Artificial Intelligence has impacted various aspects of human civilization, creating a level of disruption comparable to the Internet revolution. It is significantly reshaping the labour market, some jobs are already being phased out.”

“The other day, I watched a couple of commercials done with an AI prompt. I was just calculating the number of people who would lose their job in agencies, camera men, editors, models etc. The most disruption I believe will be in the labour force, many companies are going lean because a lot of the jobs are being streamlined by AI”.

Ijiwola who is also a tech educator and visionary entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience in the dynamic world of technology. As the founder of TechCiti, a leading digital education platform dedicated to equipping children aged 8 to 16 with essential 21st-century tech skills—from coding and robotics to digital design and animation, he has consulted for several Ivy League schools in Lekki, Lagos, Abuja and even outside the shores.

The tech analyst and professionals who has worked with several corporate firms and ivy league schools in Nigeria, speaking on the impact of AI on his work personally stated that the new revolution is more than a personal assistant to him and has reduced the number of workers he has. “AI has been beneficial to me personally, I use AI as a personal assistant, I brainstorm ideas with it and I use it to simplify some of my tasks. It has considerably reduced the number of support staff that I need for effectiveness because a lot of the tasks can now be done seamlessly by AI.”

For professionals in different fields, Ijiwola noted that, Artificial Intelligence is relevant for all and should be engaged but not depended on totally.  He says, “I see AI right now at the same stage the internet was in early 2000s, the dotcom era before the dotcom bubble burst. There is lots of excitement and everybody trying to figure out the technology and how to profit from it. Professionals in Nigeria should embrace, learn about it and its various opportunities and devise creative ways they can incorporate it into their duties.

“Accountants can use AI to create predictive financial models, a doctor can use AI to analyze patient records to predict future disease occurrence, and government institutions can use AI predictive capacity to plan for future improvement and interventions in the area of crime, environment, education and public health. Content creators are already having a filled day with AI, there are various tools available to content creators to make their job easier. Reasonable use of AI is good but over indulgence in AI is not advised.”

In developing the educational sector which teacher are trainers are piviotal to the success of the sector, he urged government at all levels to undergo massive training of teachers and instructors especially in the public sector. “Government should invest in massive training of teachers in the benefits and how to use AI tools to enrich their curriculum and teaching experience. AI in education can help educator create better content, bring original ideas to life and better keep the attention of their students. Government should also equip schools with the necessary tools to participate in the 4th industrial revolution,” he pointed out.

Though Doyin began his academic journey with a degree in Agriculture, his passion for technology led him to earn multiple professional certifications, including MCSE, CEH, A+, and CSE.

With over 15 years of experience in network architecture and implementation, he has personally developed over 100 websites and mobile applications.

He is an esteemed member of the British Computer Society and a respected cybersecurity lecturer for global high-technology training companies.

Vision and funding is crucial for the success of any venture or operations. How has Nigerian government welcomed and handled the disruption and which degree of funding should be deployed now and in nearest future?

The tech expert responded:

“To be sincere, the AI revolution is still in its early stages, and governments around the world are still figuring out their roles. Nigeria, through the efforts of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has been making some progress, engaging in global partnerships with leading tech companies in the AI space. However, it’s important that the government doesn’t lose momentum. We need to stay aligned with global AI trends, invest in creator labs, and actively fund research and development in AI-related projects.”
