Kebbi Partners Brazil To Boost Agric, Livestock Production

The Kebbi State government has partnered with the Brazilian government to boost agriculture and livestock production.

The agreement was signed yesterday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi between Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu and the Vice President of the Brazilian government, who was represented by the deputy minister of agriculture and Livestock, Mr Cleber Oleviera.

During the signing ceremony, Governor Idris said the recent growth and successes recorded in the Brazilian economy were a result of their determination to develop agriculture.

He added that Kebbi State will follow suite of the Brazilian government in transforming the state with both agriculture and livestock production.

Governor Idris also noted that Kebbi State remained the rice capital of Africa, where many delegations from different countries came to study rice farming.

Similarly, Brazilian deputy minister of agriculture and livestock, Mr Cleber Oleviera, had informed the governor that they were in Kebbi State as directed by the federal government to partner with the state on how best to bring more investment into Nigeria and Kebbi State.
