The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), through its Emerging Taxpayers’ Group, is set to host the 2025 Tax Clinic, a flagship engagement platform designed to enhance tax awareness, simplify compliance processes, and empower small businesses and informal sector players across the country.
Themed ‘Tax Clinic for Tax Clarity’, the two-day event will take place between July 15 and 16, 2025, in Lagos, according to a statement that was issued by the special adviser on communications and advocacy to FIRS chairman, Collins Omokaro.
The tax clinic aims to provide a comprehensive support framework for emerging taxpayers through direct access to government and professional service providers. The event will feature expert presentations, panel discussions, live Q&A sessions, and interactive service desks to address taxpayer challenges in real-time.
According to executive chairman of the FIRS, Zacch Adedeji, “The clinic reflects our commitment to promoting a culture of voluntary compliance by bringing tax education closer to the people. It is a critical step in strengthening trust, transparency, and inclusion in the tax system.”
The event will host top representatives and service desks from institutions such as: LIRS, JTB, CAC, TAT, NIMC, NIPC, CITN, ICAN, ANAN, NBA, and NMA.
Omokaro said participants will receive one-on-one guidance on tax filing, business registration, dispute resolution, and access to available incentives.
“Courtesy of the Nigerian Medical Association, basic medical screening will also be provided on-site,” hee stated. “The first 300 participants to register physically will receive free branded gifts.”
He urged members of the public, taxpayers, business owners, trade associations, and professionals to attend physically or join the livestream for a practical and informative experience.
