NAFOPA is the umbrella group of all Political Advisers to State Governors in Nigeria.

Speaking shortly after his election, Chief Opara expressed gratitude to the forum members for entrusting him with the position.

“I am deeply honoured by this unanimous decision, and I pledge to bring innovation, integrity, and diligence to this role,” he said.

“NAFOPA will serve as a platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and advancing professionalism in political advising,” he noted.

Chief Opara has held several prominent positions throughout his career, underscoring his deep-rooted influence in the political sphere.

He served as the National Chairman of the National Unity Party (NUP) and President of the Nigerian Union of Political Parties.

His international credentials include his role as the International President of the West African Association of Political Parties (WAAPP).

At the national level, Chief Opara has contributed to political stability and cooperation as the National Chairman and National Secretary of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).

He also served as Chairman of the Finance and General Purpose Committee for the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).

Chief Opara has also served as Deputy Director and Director of the Goodluck Support Group (GSG) and was a key Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council member.

At one time, he also presided over the National Leadership Awards.

The newly elected Chairman described his vision for NAFOPA as one focused on uniting political advisers across the nation and elevating the standards of political consultancy.
