She was honoured as First Lady of the Year (Health Care & Grassroots Empowerment) for her impactful work in maternal health, child immunisation, and expanding inclusive healthcare services in Adamawa.

Hajiya Lami emerged alongside her counterparts from Enugu and Jigawa States, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah and Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, respectively, at the programme organised by the Humanitarian Achievements and Outreach Foundation.

The prestigious recognition came after a competitive public voting process that celebrated their exceptional humanitarian contributions across healthcare, women empowerment, and girl child support in their respective states.

Mrs. Mbah received the award for First Lady of the Year (Women Empowerment & Community Development), recognising her bold initiatives in vocational training, small business support, and rural outreach programmes in Enugu.

Hajiya Namadi was named First Lady of the Year (Girl Child Support & Community Development) in recognition of her dedicated efforts to promote girls’ education, menstrual hygiene awareness, and enrollment drives in Jigawa State.

The grand ceremony is scheduled for Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja, during the Nigerian Humanitarian Awards, Summit & Magazine Event organised by the Humanitarian Achievements and Outreach Foundation.

With the theme “Building Bridges of Hope: Transforming Lives with Compassion and Innovation,” the event will feature keynote speeches, the impact lab workshop, and the official unveiling of the 2025 Humanitarian Impact Magazine, spotlighting changemakers and pioneering humanitarian efforts across Nigeria.
