Former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has appealed to Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, Senator David Mark, and others who are leaving the party to form a coalition and return to it, saying their interests can be better served only in the PDP.

Bode George, who stated this at a social engagement held in his office in Ikoyi, Lagos on Thursday, tagged restitution of restoration, said they decided to celebrate because peace has returned to the PDP and the differences in the party have been resolved in the interest of the party.

He explained that the crisis at the national level is over and appealed to those forming a coalition, saying no coalition can be stronger than the PDP.

Chief George said the PDP is a reborn political party that has weathered all storms and can never go under.

The PDP stalwart explained that those leaving the party to form a coalition are urinating on the grave of the founding fathers of the party, who sacrificed everything to give birth to the party.

He explained that it is a disservice to the party whose platform they used to get to a higher position in the country.

Chief George said those who want to form a coalition should not forget they have travelled that way before, and it amounted to nothing, and it will be good if they remain in the party to help build it.

He explained that, across the country, members of the party are now celebrating the peace that has returned to the party, and that of the South West will hold in Ibadan next week.

“The party has weathered the storm, this party is reborn, those who have attained higher positions in the country on the platform of the party should do a rethink, they should take it easy, there is no way their congregating can pass the PDP strength,’’ he said

Chief George further added that there is no chance that the PDP can produce a Northerner as presidential candidate in 2027 in line with the zoning arrangement in the party.

He explained that a Northerner can only emerge as a presidential candidate by 2031.”There is no chance that our party will nominate a person from the North in 2027,” he said.
