It was a joyous moment as Chiggy Nsofor Foundation (CNF) graduated 21 young persons from its pioneering Skill Scale-Up Project.

The event, held at the weekend in Abuja, marked the culmination of a 3-4 month intensive programme designed to equip Nigerian youths with in-demand digital and vocational skills.

The graduation, themed: “Great Impact”, was the climax of months of rigorous training in web development, digital marketing, photography and videography, hairdressing, make-up artistry, catering, content creation and personal development.

The comprehensive curriculum also included entrepreneurship and core value orientation.

In a key address, the founder, Chiggy Nsofor, praised the determination of the graduates and the dedication of the CNF team and facilitators. “You didn’t just sign up for a course; you signed up for an upgrade,” she said.

“This is not just a graduation, it’s a celebration of transformation.”

Nsofor extended heartfelt thanks to the foundation’s support system – its facilitators, staff, and volunteers. Pastor Tunde Adeyemo was also recognised for his unwavering support for the programme.

One of the highlights was a testimony from one of the graduates, 22-year-old Nwani Chinyere Ebubechukwu, who trained in photography and videography.

“I used to think videography was simple,” she shared. “But CNF opened my eyes to the depth and creativity it requires. I even learned how to operate a drone”.

In a keynote address, the director of the Prevention, Care and Treatment Department at the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, Helen Omuh, reminded the graduates that “skill is power” and urged them to be change-makers in their communities.

“It’s not just about what you’ve learned,” she emphasised, “it’s about who you’re becoming.”

The CNF project officer, Esohe Okuomose, delivered a welcome address and emphasised the foundation’s mission of all-round empowerment through skill-building, humanitarian aid and health outreach.
