The suspected vandal whose identity was yet to be known, is suspected to be a resident in the neighbouring community of Antigha.

He was reportedly electrocuted around 1:30 am after a brief power outage which he wanted to take advantage of but electricity was restored shortly leading to his electrocution.

Work tools found in possession of the vandal include pliers and a short socks on him.

Residents of the community gathered in their large number at the scene of the incident to glance at the lifeless body of the vandal hanging on the high tension cables.

A resident of the area who identified himself simply as Mr. Sylvester said, “It’s Nemesis that has caught the electricity vandal. We had instances where we do contributions among ourselves to assist service providers with electricity installations.

“Before you know it, the items installed would be vandalised. These are the people behind destruction of our transformers we used to experience,” Sylvester lamented.

No official statement had be made by either the law enforcement agents or Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) as at the time of filing this report.
