Arewa Dignity Advancement Initiative (ArDA) has expressed sadness over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
It described the late leader as a symbol of discipline, integrity, and national service.
In a condolence message signed yesterday in Bauchi by the chairperson of ArDA, Hajiya Baheejah Mahmood, the organisation paid tribute to Buhari, recalling his decades of contributions to Nigeria’s development.
The group described Buhari as a son of the North and a symbol of discipline, integrity, and patriotic service.
Baheejah also described Buhari as a leader who embodied endurance, simplicity, and commitment to national unity from his early military career to his tenure as Head of State and later as a democratically elected president.
“His legacy of anti-corruption, infrastructural renewal, agricultural reform, and moral leadership will remain etched in Nigeria’s collective memory,” she added.
Baheejah also called on Nigerians, especially those in leadership, to reflect on the impermanence of life and embrace values of justice, sincerity, and compassion.
“This loss is a solemn reminder that life is short and fragile. No matter how powerful or popular we become, we shall all return to our Creator. Let our actions be guided by a deep sense of purpose, humility, and fear of God.”
She prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the former President’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. She also extended prayers and condolences to the people of Daura, Katsina State, and the nation at large.
“His death is not just a loss to his family, but a national bereavement. May his life continue to inspire generations of leaders who value the dignity of service and humanity’s advancement,” she added.
