Again, Bandits Abduct 13 In Niger

Bandits have again attacked Maijaki village in Birnin Maza/ Tashibo ward of Lapai local government area of Niger State, abducting 13 people and shooting one.

LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered that the incident occurred around 1:00 am on Friday.

It was learnt that they entered the village shooting randomly and in the process abducted  13 people and shot one person at close range.

An eye witness said; “When they left we discovered the person shot in the pool of his blood, we immediately rushed him  to the Lapai General Hospital for treatment.”

He said  the bandits came in and went out through the route leading to Kpashimi Forest in southern Lapai bordering the federal capital axis.

Another source said; “They have their camps in that forest where they hide to perpetuate their evil acts. The entire Lapai south is the target of bandits now and we calling for urgent attention from security operatives to forestall further attacks.”

Attempts to get the commissioner for internal security, Emmanuel Umar, were abortive a but a security source said over 500 security operatives of Operation Sharan Daji including vigilantes had stormed the forest for the bandits and freed the abductees
