The Arewa Christian Youth Leadership Forum (ACYLF) has commended Senator Abdul’aziz Yari for launching a ₦216 million scholarship scheme to empower orphans and vulnerable students across Zamfara State.
In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja, ACYLF’s national chairman, Dunijir Gatama, described the initiative as a “visionary and compassionate” intervention.
He said the scholarship has covered the tuition fees of 2,055 students in its first year.
“This is a bold step toward transforming lives,” Gatama said. “Senator Yari’s commitment to education and human capital development is a beacon of hope in Northern Nigeria.”
The scholarship benefits students in public and private universities across the state’s 14 local government areas and includes a monthly stipend of ₦15,000 for each recipient.
The organisation emphasised the critical role of education in national development and urged other leaders in the North to follow Yari’s example.
“At a time when countless students are hindered by financial constraints, this scholarship is more than a lifeline—it is a bold statement about what purposeful leadership looks like,” the group said.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote youth development, equity, and long-term progress across the region and the nation.
