Abia State Head of Service, Benson Ojeikere, has assured that the state’s anti-corruption and upholding of ethical standard is resolute.
Ojeikere stated this while addressing civil servants as part of efforts to reposition the service in line with standard practices yesterday in Umuahia.
He expressed concern on unethical practices among civil servants, stressing that the present administration in the state was committed to weeding out the suspects.
“It is unfortunate that pervasive theft and fraudulent activities have brought negative perception to public service, but we’re committee to eliminate it,” he said.
Ojeikere, who charged workers to comply with the government’s operational procedures, added that sabotaging its policies and programmes would not be condoned.
“I urge you to adopt a positive mindset and reflect on your conduct and appeal to you to be kind to the government to report anyone found wanting,” he said.
