The deputy governor who was accompanied by the Majority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Munira Suleiman Tanimu, and other senior government officials, received Mrs. Buhari and her family at the Nigerian Airforce Base Kaduna on behalf of the Kaduna State Government.

Dr. Balarabe later accompanied Mrs. Buhari and her entourage to their residence in Kaduna where the family would continue mourning the late President.
