Adamawa Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Yahaya Nguroje, in a statement said police have commenced investigations into the two incidents bordering on culpable homicide, arising from domestic violence.

Nguroje told LEADERSHIP that the first incident occurred in Pallam District, Madagali LGA, with preliminary investigation revealing that physical confrontation erupted between two co-wives, a 55-year-old Rhoda Anthony and Victoria Anthony, aged 36, both married to one Pallam Anthony.

The PPRO said during the altercation, Victoria’s son, 16-year-old Ijai, struck his stepmother, Rhoda Anthony, on the head with a piece of wood, causing her to collapse.

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Madagali Division promptly mobilised to the scene and rushed the victim to Cottage Hospital Madagali, but she was later confirmed dead while receiving treatment.

Police said the suspect and his mother have been taken into custody as investigation progresses.

Meanwhile, the Command is also investigating one Idi Buba who allegedly attacked his biological father, Buba Jelli, stabbing him on the neck and back with a knife, following a domestic dispute in Fotta in Gombi LGA of the state.

The victim was immediately rushed to the Primary Health Care Center in Fotta, where he sadly died while receiving treatment.

Police subsequently arrested the suspect at the scene, and recovered the knife used in the attack as an exhibit.

Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, condemned these heinous acts, especially those involving family members.

He called on all residents to always exercise restraint, avoid taking law into their hands, and seek peaceful means of resolving conflicts.

The PPRO added that investigations were ongoing and assured that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
