This, LEADERSHIP learnt, was part of the resolutions reached at the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held at the Exco Chamber of the Government House, Uyo, the state capital which was presided over by the governor, Umo Eno.

Addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, the commissioner for information, Elder Aniekan Umanah, explained that the decision became necessary following a memo sent to that effect by the finance ministry.

He said: “The Executive Council, as a follow up to the presentation by the ministry of finance, deliberated on the report on harmonisation of the Internally Generated Revenues (IGR) Treasury Single Account (TSA).

“Consequently, the SEC approved the formal adoption of the TSA policy to enhance revenue efficiency, block leakages and promote transparency. The TSA platform, ‘Akwaremit’, alongside the State land management platform, ‘AkwaGIS’, are scheduled for official launch on September 1, 2025”
