BREAKING: Benue Police Rescue 6 Abducted Law Students

The Benue State Police Command has rescued the Law students who were abducted in the state on the Saturday, 26th of July, 2025.

Our correspondent gathered that the abducted Law students were traveling to the Adamawa State Campus of Nigerian Law School when they were kidnapped at the boundary between Benue and Taraba States.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Udeme Edet disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

“Please be informed that the police have successfully rescued six law students of Yola Campus who were abducted on the 26th of July 2025 while traveling from Anambra to Adamawa State,” the statement said.

According to the PPRO “They (Law students) have been safely released and united with their families this (Friday) morning, 1st August 2025.”

National President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Afam Osigwe, announced the abduction of the six law students at the NBA’s North-Central regional security summit held in Makurdi on July 28 while also lamented the escalating security threats in the region.
