Speaking through the Head of Civil Service, Barrister Mohammed Umar, at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 corps members on Friday, the governor urged the youths to take their service year seriously and see it as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.

The event, held at the newly renovated Permanent Orientation Camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa local government area, marked the official induction of 1,107 corps members who completed registration out of the 1,700 posted to the state.

Governor Mohammed assured the corps members of the hospitality and support of the people of the state, emphasising that the NYSC scheme fosters national integration and transformation.

“Your presence here symbolises hope and commitment to nation-building. Be ambassadors of unity, and use this opportunity to positively impact your host communities,” he said.

Earlier, the NYSC state coordinator, Umoren Kufre, reminded the corps members that camp life is highly regimented and urged them to abide by all camp rules, including the NYSC Bye-laws and the orientation timetable.

He also commended the Bauchi State government for its continued support, particularly the recent renovation of the orientation camp facilities.

The three-week orientation course is expected to instill discipline, teamwork and leadership in the new corps members as they prepare for postings across the state.
