Founder of Tomorrow’s Women Development Organisation (TWDO), Dr. Chinyere Ezenwokike, has launched a groundbreaking book titled “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Nigeria: Enhancing Access to Finance, Effective Interventions and Addressing Key Challenges.” The publication is hailed as a significant contribution to the field of gender and development, focusing on dismantling the barriers that hinder women’s access to finance and economic empowerment in Nigeria. The launch event, held in Apo, Abuja, also celebrated Dr. Ezenwokike’s recent academic achievement—a PhD in Criminology and Justice Policy.
During the launch, Sir David Anchaver chaired, and Dr. Ezenwokike described the book as the culmination of 24 years of unwavering advocacy and development work to uplift women. She said the book reflects her long-standing passion for gender equality and her vision of an inclusive society where women play leading roles in economic development.
She emphasised that the book is more than just a scholarly work; it is a call to action to dismantle societal and institutional barriers that continue to sideline women in economic spaces.
Dr. Ezenwokike also took the opportunity to encourage young women to remain focused, resilient, and goal-driven. She stressed the importance of education and perseverance in the journey toward personal and professional fulfilment. According to her, women must pursue their passions with clarity and drive and actively seek out networks and platforms that support growth and excellence. Her vision, she said, is to foster a generation of women who are financially empowered, intellectually equipped, and bold enough to lead transformative change in society.
The book was reviewed by former Country Director of Action Aid, Dr. Otive Igbuzor, who praised Dr. Ezenwokike’s commitment, courage, and impactful work. He commended the book’s practical approach to tackling women entrepreneurs’ real-world challenges and highlighted its relevance to policy and grassroots interventions.
