Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, chairman of the Senate Committee on Army and the Northern Senators Forum, has refuted recent media speculation suggesting he has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja, Senator Yar’adua described the reports as “mischievous” and urged the public and press to disregard any misleading headlines.
“I wish to categorically reaffirm my unwavering commitment and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he said.
The senator emphasised that sharing the Yar’adua surname does not imply political association and cautioned media outlets against drawing unfounded conclusions.
“It’s essential to clarify that not all individuals sharing the Yar’Adua surname imply a political association with me,” he noted.
Highlighting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts, Senator Yar’adua praised the administration’s strides in increasing state and local government allocations, investing in critical infrastructure, and bolstering national security through mass recruitment into security agencies.
“As political leaders, I believe we must join hands with Mr President to make this administration succeed and ensure the common man feels the impact of the reforms of the APC-led Federal Government,” he said.
Senator Yar’adua reiterated his commitment to working with party leaders across political lines to promote national unity, progress, and prosperity.
