A Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer was captured on video sprinting when a truck carrying a large shipping container lost control and toppled along Apapa Road in Lagos State.

Videos circulating on social media showed how the crashed truck narrowly missed pedestrians and oncoming vehicles during the accident.

In a now-viral video shared by eyewitnesses on social media, the FRSC officer was captured running from the scene as the truck tilted and the container crashed to the ground with a bang.

The incident occurred in daylight, causing a temporary disruption to traffic in the usually busy port corridor.
The footage, widely circulated on X (formerly Twitter), showed stunned onlookers screaming as the truck began to swerve, before finally collapsing sideways.

Bystanders were seen fleeing the area, while the FRSC officer, who was on duty nearby, joined the stampede for safety.

Many netizens have reacted to the video with a mix of humor and concern, some pointing fingers at poor road maintenance, overloading, and regulatory failure.

An X user identified as @Oluwa-samuel said, “Safety has been thrown away by a Truck Driver.”
