‘Tinubu’s Gov’t Worse Than Buhari’, Says Ex-Police Affairs Minister Waziri

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri has criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, describing it as a ‘total disaster’.

Waziri maintained that the current administration has underperformed even when compared to the much-criticised government of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking in an interview with Trust Television, Waziri expressed deep concerns over the state of governance in Nigeria, warning that the country was dangerously spiraling into deeper crises under Tinubu’s watch.

“If the Buhari government was a failure, the Tinubu government in the last two years is a disastrous catastrophe.

“It has failed in all ramifications, and the country has regressed,” Waziri said.

He listed insecurity, worsening economic hardship, and growing corruption as key indicators of what he termed a failing government.

“The economy is collapsing, ethnocentrism is at an all-time high, and insecurity continues to ravage many states,” he noted.

Waziri also argued that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has lost its sense of national direction and has become increasingly fragile and polarised.

He questioned the sincerity of those who publicly support the administration, particularly individuals from regions grappling with insecurity.

“I am surprised that people whose local governments are under the control of bandits can appear on national television to endorse this government,” he said.

The former minister called for a sober and honest evaluation of the Tinubu administration’s performance, urging Nigerians to look beyond choreographed endorsements and media optics.

According to him, a government that has presided over nationwide decline in nearly every sector cannot credibly seek reelection.
