Excitement is building ahead of the 2025 edition of the Papyrus Magazine State Houses of Assembly Awards (PAMSHAA). Scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 30, at the prestigious Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Sheraton), FCT.

Now in its third Edition, PAMSHAA has become a benchmark for legislative excellence across Nigeria’s 36 states. It honours state lawmakers who have gone above and beyond their core lawmaking, oversight, and representation mandates to deliver tangible results to the people.

After months of evaluations, opinion polls, and internal vetting, 28 states have locked in with the final eight states racing against time to submit their entries — the very reason the much-anticipated event was shifted from August 10 to August 30. The goal? Full participation. No state must be left behind.

From constituency outreach and private member bills to floor performance, effective motions, and committee leadership, the award categories promise a night of high expectations and well-earned recognition. Among the hottest categories are Best Performing Member in Constituency Outreach, where fierce competition is building between lawmakers with impactful community projects, and Most Impactful Motions, which could go to legislators who have successfully raised urgent State issues through powerful resolutions.

The Masses’ Most Loved Member category is shaping up to be the crowd-puller, reflecting public sentiment from the grassroots. There’s also buzz about which House of Assembly will emerge with the healthiest executive-legislative relationship, a critical metric of state-level governance stability.

The PAMSHAA Awards are organised by Papyrus Global, owners of Papyrus Magazine, The Papyrus Daily, and Papyrus TV Africa, collaborating with PASAN, journalists within State Assembly complexes, and performance assessments drawn from on-ground constituency opinion polls.

As the capital city prepares to host lawmakers from across the country, political observers, media practitioners, and governance stakeholders are keen to see who will clinch top honours — and who will go home with applause.

The names are sealed, and the hall is set.
