Taraba State governor, Agbu Kefas, has mourned the
late Mama Lydia Bello, the
mother of his special adviser on media and digital communication.
Kefas described her as an octogenarian who lived a fulfilled life. He also condoled with the government and the people of Edo State over her demise.
Mama Lydia, popularly known as Mama Endurance Photo, was the mother of the special adviser on media and digital communications, Emmanuel Bello.
In a letter to governor, Monday Okpebholo, Dr Kefas stated that Mama has been a blessing to Taraba State, having moved to the North in the late 60s from the former Bendel State, now Edo State.
Kefas noted that Mama Lydia’s contribution to photography, a career she pioneered as the first known female photographer, will remain indelible. He stressed that her discipline and motherliness were felt by all and sundry whom she regarded as her own.
Consequently, he said Mama’s legacies will remain indelible for the great children she has left behind and the record of her philanthropy in Wukari and its environs. The governor remembered her as a humble, jovial, hardworking woman who raised her children with uncommon devotion.
While praying for the repose of her soul, Kefas urged the government and people of Edo State to take solace in the hope of resurrection and find comfort, even as Lydia’s life is worth celebrating.
Mama Lydia’s remains will be buried in Uneme Akpama, Akoko Edo, on August 9, 2025.
