The Yobe State Police Command has apprehended a 24-year-old Umar Abubakar and Abdulaziz Mohammad, 25, both from Kumbotso local government area of Kano State for alleged ATM card fraud.

A statement by the Yobe Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dungus Abdulkarim disclosed that the suspects specialised in defrauding unsuspecting victims at ATM galleries by pretending to assist customers.

The suspects would now take advantage of their purported assistance to swap or clonie the cards to withdraw money from their victims’ bank accounts.

According to the statement, both men were arrested while perpetrating the act at the Fidelity Bank ATM Gallery in Damaturu, Yobe State capital.

In a separate incident, the Potiskum Divisional Police Headquarters personnel trailed and apprehended a 25-year-old Usman Suleman of Babura LGA of Jigawa State over alleged tricycle theft.

The suspect was apprehended in Bauchi State on his way to Kano State where he was taking the tricycle.

The suspect allegedly stole the tricycle while the rider was performing prayer at a mosque near Access Bank in Potiskum Town, Yobe state.

Police said investigations were ongoing on both incidents, assuring that suspects will be prosecuted subsequently after the conclusion of investigations.
