, He said the state government implemented it in line with the agreement the Otu adninistration reached with organised labour.

The HoS spoke after unveiling the activities to mark the ongoing Civil/Public Service Day celebration.

He said Governor Otu graciously implemented the minimum as contained in the agreement.

Speaking on the theme: Re-engineering the Cross River State Civil Service for Efficient Service Delivery,” Eteng stated, “His Excellency has graciously approved the N70,000 minimum wage, which we have implemented grossly as written in the agreement.

“Those saying the governor has not implemented the minimum wage are ignorant and naive.

“As the Head of Service, I talk to you authoritatively. I am giving you information which is bankable and can be taken to the bank.

“I am saying that minimum wage across the state, across all levels, has been implemented to the latter. So, commend the governor, his excellency, for doing that. We have done that,” he maintained.

The HOS enumerated activities for the Civil Service/Public Service lecture day, which included a city walk by civil servants, a public lecture, an award of honour to deserving workers at the UJ Esuene Stadium, a keynote address by the secretary to the state government (SSG), and a lecture by Rev. Fr. Bob Etta.
