Graduates of tertiary institutions and youths in Nigeria have been advised to add vocational skills to their educational certification to be self-reliant and independent.

The Planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Sam Olu Alo, gave advice to the country’s youth and graduates, saying that this will enable them to be job creators rather than job seekers.

He said acquiring tertiary education certificates is not enough to secure jobs for graduates in Nigeria, adding that combining this with vocational skills would make a brighter future for young Nigerians.

He spoke after the closing session of the eighth edition of the annual ministry’s power-packed 30-day fasting and prayer programme, which was held at Adamimogo Jesus City, Lekki/Epe Express Way, Lagos.

This year’s programme edition, tagged “Sure Mercy of David,” features the empowerment of hundreds of youths and unemployed graduates through skills acquisition and start-up capital.

Speaking with newsmen at the event, the renowned man of God also catered to the spiritual needs of many young Nigerians, noting that no fewer than 5,000 Nigerians benefit yearly from his humanitarian and spiritual benevolence.

According to him, the beneficiaries are being trained to acquire various vocational skills, including tailoring, welding, and cell phone repair.

He said: “The beneficiaries would, as usual, be given Start-Up capital and kits to start their vocations and then become empowered to cater for themselves and their families and be useful for the country. Artisans who do not have the means to start their vocations also benefit from humanitarian gestures.”
