Group general manager of JMG Limited, Rabi Jammal, has urged youths to advocate for a better society, good governance, leadership and other virtues that would make Nigeria great.
He stated this at a forum to mark this year’s International Youth Day (IYD) with the theme, “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.”
The global day, observed annually on 12th August and established by the United Nations General Assembly on 17th December 1999, highlights young people’s vital role in redefining multilateral diplomacy. It also brings youth issues to the international community’s attention and celebrates their potential as partners in today’s global society.
Jammal said the International Youth Day allows the celebration of youths’ voices, actions and initiatives with a view to equitable engagement. This underscores the company’s involvement with the age demographics in its activities and through employment for economic and national development.
He stated that the company’s core values recognise youths as a driving force of change, innovation, and progress, adding that they must be empowered, supported, and inspired to engage in activities that lead to the attainment of sustainable development goals set by the United Nations.
Jammal affirmed that the company constantly innovates in its offerings, spanning power generation, electrical infrastructure, cooling systems, vertical transportation, and air compressors, from power to plug, with skilled employees in the youth category, adding value to the provisioning of solutions to enhance clients’ productivity.
