Tinubu, Govs, Abbas, Others Condole APC Chairman Over Mother’s Death

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt condolences to Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the passing of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.

Mama Yilwatda died on Sunday morning at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital at the age of 83.

In a statement yesterday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described her as a woman of virtue who lived a life dedicated to faith, service, and the uplifting of her community.

The President enjoined  the APC Chairman to accept her death as the will of Almighty God and be consoled by the life of purpose his mother lived.

Also, the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) condoled with the APC chairman over the incident.

The chairman of the NSGF and governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, conveyed the message on behalf of his colleagues, describing the death of the octogenarian as a deeply painful loss.

In a statement issued by the governor’s director-general on Press Affairs yesterday, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, said the death of a mother, regardless of age, is always difficult, especially given the irreplaceable role a mother plays in offering prayers, wisdom and emotional strength to her children.

Meanwhile, the APC has expressed shock and sadness over the news of the passing of Lydia Yilwatda.

In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party said her death is a colossal loss not only to her family, community but the entire APC family.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her immediate family,  church, community, the government and good people of Plateau State at this difficult time,” he said.

Similarly, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen condoled Yilwatda over his mother’s death.

The speaker, in his condolence message issued through his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, described the deceased as a devoted mother and community leader who served God until the end of her life as a prominent member of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN).

While lamenting that her death came shortly after her son, Prof. Yilwatda, became the national chairman of the APC, Abbas noted that Madam Lydia lived a fulfilling and impactful life.

Also, Plateau State governor, Caleb  Mutfwang commiserated with Yilwatda over the passing of his beloved mother, Lydia whom he said was a matriarch of uncommon strength, love, sacrifice and a source of inspiration to all who encountered her.

Mutfwang in a condolence message signed by the director of press and public affairs, Gyang Bere described the Late Lydia as a woman of deep faith, courage and virtue, whose life was defined by service to God and humanity.

Similarly, Plateau state chapter of APC expressed shock over the sad news of the death of the mother of its National Chairman, Lydia Yilwatda

APC in a statement issued by the Acting State Publicity Secretary, Shittu Bamaiyi said Mama Lydia Yilwatda’s death is not only a personal loss to the National Chairman, but the entire APC family in Plateau State and the Country at large.
