As part of the ongoing investigation into the August 10, 2025 incident aboard the Ibom Air from Uyo-Lagos flight, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will meet the Aviation Security (AVSEC), the Ibom Air cabin crew on duty that day and Ms. Comfort Emmanson, the passenger involved in the whole incident for their part of the story.

Speaking at the National Civil Aviation Security Committee meeting, convened by the NCAA in Abuja, the NCAA director of public affairs and consumer protection, Michael Achimugu, revealed that the Authority had spoken with Emmanson and had invited her, the cabin crew and all those involved in the incident for further investigation on the incident.

Achimugu said that the NCAA’s further investigation of the incident would shed more light on it, which recently gained traction on social media.

According to him, “I have spoken with Ms. Emmanson this morning. We are also inviting the Ibom Air cabin crew to continue investigating the incident. They will be here tomorrow (Wednesday).”

More so, a senior aviation industry stakeholder who will likely be a member of the team of investigators, according to LEADERSHIP, said that the meeting would be behind closed doors as it is part of the investigation. More people, including AVSEC, FAAN staff, and Ibom Air security, will be invited to the meeting as they were all seen at the incident venue.

Recall that Emmanson was accused of being unruly on the flight, which led to her being banned for life by the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON). They later charged and remanded her at the Kikiri Correctional Centre.
