A governorship hopeful in Nasarawa State for the 2027 race, Sadiq Osude, has advocated youth civic engagement and pro-poor leadership for the overall development of the country.

Osude, a philanthropist and thought leader made the advocacy at the prestigious National Achievers Congress in Singapore which held at the weekend.

Represented by his close associate, Godwin Omage who is the CEO of Eki Co-Net and President of Gaf Africa, the Nasarawa guber hopeful highlighted the correlation between financial success, social responsibility and active political participation.

Osude called for a new kind of leadership—that is both economically astute and deeply committed to grassroots development.

He pointed out the impactful work of the SOS Foundation which he  founded to create tangible change in his home state of Nasarawa, adding that since 2015, the foundation’s initiatives have directly benefited over 60,000 people across all 13 local government areas.

“My journey into wealth has taught me a fundamental truth: individual success is hollow without community progress. My prosperity is only meaningful if it can be a tool to uplift others,” Osude said.

While stressing the importance of youth engagement in democratic governance, he said: “the future of our nation isn’t a promise, it’s a project that we must all build together. I am calling on every young person to understand that true power lies not in being governed, but in choosing who governs.

…”Every ballot cast is a brick in the foundation of our collective future. Registering to vote is not just a right; it is the most powerful tool you have to shape your own destiny and the destiny of your community.”

Osude urged all young people in Nasarawa state, and indeed all residents to take their place in the democratic process by visiting the nearest INEC office to register to vote.
