Technical consultant for Food Basket Brewery, producers of Zeva Beer, Oladipo Loto, has said upon completion, the brewery would have produce over 600,000 crates of beer and other carbonated drinks annually.
Loto made this known when he conducted journalists round the factory in Makurdi,Benue State.
He said the brewery will officially commence the production of beer and other carbonated drinks in November.
He said, “We are not only concentrating on beer production; we are also producing other carbonated drinks. I want to inform you that all the machines needed for the factory’s start-up are already on the ground for installation.
He described the brewery as the first in Northern Nigeria, adding that it will open employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths and boost the state’s economy.
In a remark, the plant manager of Adobe Emmanuel, who described the managing director of the Benue Investment and Property Company, Dr Raymond Asemakaha, as a visionary and pragmatic leader who is out to project Benue on the global map, commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for giving the MD a level plain field to operate.
Earlier, Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, who took journalists around some of Governor Alia’s projects executed in two years, including the underpass, roads, and newly acquired machines for juice extraction in the fruit juice factory, said the governor is concerned about the plight of every Benue resident.
According to him, when Governor Alia came on board, in the first year, he flagged off 16 roads in Makurdi metropolis, which were all completed within one year. After that, an additional 25 roads were flagged off, and most of them have been completed; just a few others are under construction.
He informed that the governor has constructed over 390km of roads across the state. In addition, massive renovations and construction of schools and primary health care in the 23 local governments are underway, among other projects.
On the issue of uneven project distribution to particular zones, the governor said no LG in Benue will be left behind in development, saying more projects will still be unveiled.
When asked where he gets all the resources to execute projects, the governor said prudent resource management and the blocking of leakages from internally generated revenue, among other things, have contributed significantly to the execution of projects today.
