Adeleke Flags Off Inmates’ Enrolment In Health Insurance Scheme

Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, has flagged off the enrolment of inmates into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme.

At the Ilesa Medium Correctional Centre of the Nigeria Correctional Services event, Governor Adeleke described inmates at correctional facilities as bona fide citizens of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.
The governor said his administration does not discriminate based on political affiliation, tribe, religion, or gender.

He noted that inmates’ healthcare and general well-being must remain a matter of priority, adding that they also deserve the dividends of democracy as residents of Osun State.

Adeleke used the opportunity to appreciate the Nigerian Bar Association, royal fathers, the various labour unions, the clerics, and various strata of society for their sustained appeal to the federal government and the presidency to release Osun local government withheld allocations.

According to him, the enormous public support for the Osun State government strengthens his faith in the legality and morality of the position on the local government leadership question.

Earlier, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr Adekunle Akindele, described the governor as a trailblazer, adding that this is why the Federal government emulated Osun in terms of enrolling pensioners into health insurance schemes and renovating primary healthcare centres.

In his remarks, the Controller of Corrections, Osun Command, Olalekan Rotimi Oluwadele noted that the Governor’s presence at the event is a testament to his commitment to inmates’ welfare.
