The Kaduna State Government has reinstated several workers disengaged during the previous administration and cleared outstanding debts amounting to over ₦500 million owed to them, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Comrade Barde Yunana Markus, has disclosed.

Speaking during a press briefing yesterday in Kaduna, the commissioner said the action was part of Governor Sani’s commitment to upholding social justice and prioritising the welfare of citizens, especially civil servants who were removed from service in violation of extant labour laws and retirement guidelines.

“Many of those affected by the previous mass disengagements are now being recalled to service. In key institutions like the state water board, we have cleared liabilities exceeding ₦500 million to ensure effective service delivery. These workers are now back on the payroll,” Markus stated.

He said, the Ministry of Humanitarian Services, though recently established, is already partnering with agencies like the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to implement interventions in poverty reduction, disaster response, and support for vulnerable populations across the state.

Markus also highlighted ongoing developmental strides under the Governor Sani led administration, citing notable achievements in health, education, agriculture, security, and infrastructure.

He revealed that farmers across the state now receive fertiliser free of charge as part of government’s agricultural support initiative, while a new 300-bed hospital at Millennium City has been completed and fully equipped to serve the public.

Describing Governor Sani as “a compassionate and people-focused leader,” the commissioner said the administration remains committed to inclusive governance, ensuring that all 23 local government areas benefit from the government’s developmental agenda.
