The Association of Resident Doctors under Edo State Government Employment (ARD EDGE), through its President, Peter O. Evbuomwan, has expressed profound gratitude to the State Government for the recent payment of the 2024 Medical Residency Training Funds (MRTF) to the beneficiaries.
The funds were disbursed on August 29 to the delight of the state resident doctors.
ARD said this timely intervention demonstrated the government’s commitment to supporting medical training and capacity development within the state.
“We also appreciate the prompt commencement of renovation works at the doctors’ quarters in Ezoti.
“This initiative is a welcome development and a significant boost to the living and working conditions of doctors, reflecting a genuine step toward improving the welfare of healthcare professionals in Edo State,” the Resident Doctors said.
In a statement jointly signed by its President, Dr. Peter O. Evbuomwan, and Secretary General, Dr. Ernest Hills Oamen, they said: “With these actions, the SHINE Agenda is now being felt in the health sector, and we sincerely acknowledge the impact these gestures will have on healthcare delivery in the state.”
“As partners in progress, we look forward to continued collaboration with the Edo State Government in driving more healthcare initiatives that will strengthen our health system.”
“We also remain hopeful that the other requests and agreements previously tabled will soon be addressed, ensuring that the health sector in Edo State achieves the level of excellence that our people deserve.
“We thank the government once again for these laudable steps and reaffirm our commitment to working together for the good of Edo people,” they added.
