Church Celebrates Return Of Peace In Adamawa

As part of post-insurgency recovery activity celebrating the return of normalcy, the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria known as Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), has organised inter district church council volleyball championship to unite the youths after losing eight pastors and over 8,000 members to insurgency attacks

The church says it was imperative to organise the tournament, recounting that its activities had to be relocated to Jos due to severe attacks by Boko Haram in 2014, adding that, so far over 87 churches were rebuilt and trauma healing training conducted on it members.

Speaking during the finals at Kwarhi, headquarters of the church in Hong local government area, EYN president, Rev. Dr. Daniel Mbaya, said the championship was aimed at strengthening peace in Nigeria.
Mbaya said 12 DCCs across the federation participated in a 30 matches played in championship 2025, where youths potentials were discovered by bringing them under a common platform.

“The church observed that the best way to to tackle restiveness among youths is to unite them through sporting activities.
