The lead pastor of Good Tidings Bible Church International, Pastor Dayo Olutayo, has called on politicians contesting for public offices in the forthcoming general elections to adhere to the peace accords they signed to ensure that the election is peaceful, free, fair and credible.

Speaking at a press conference on the forthcoming 18th anniversary and annual maranatha convention of the church slated for November 1 to 6, 2022 with the theme; ‘Hosanna in the Highest,’ he said;

“We hold the event every year to not only recount our blessings to God but also to remind ourselves that Jesus said he was coming back for those who believe in him, and nobody knows the time or the day, but he told us to watch and pray. So, we must put ourselves in constant reminder of this great event. That is why the theme ‘Maranatha’ came up.

“However, every year, that event happens to fall on the yearly anniversary of our ministry, because Good Tidings Bible Church International started officially on November 4, 2004 while the first Sunday service was on November 7, 2004.”

Olutayo noted that the Maranatha event is none denominational, which is why they want the world to be aware of it and invited everyone to be part of the program.

“The event cuts across all people who believe in God, all faiths. It is not a church program. It is a program for everyone who loves the truth and wants to rejoice with us on our 18th anniversary. You will be blessed with the word and power of God as to healing, miracles and testimonies. There is a guarantee of that because they constantly happen in many of our services.

“During the program, we will start at 3:00 pm and end the service at 7:00 pm daily. In these four hours, there are going to be two sections of teaching, the first session is the breakthrough session, where people can tap into ideas, wisdom and lessons from people who have succeeded in certain fields.

“For instance, in that session on Wednesday, Prof. Pat Utomi will be teaching businessmen and women certain keys and principles that can make their businesses blossom. Other experts would be invited to teach during this session.

“The second session would be spiritual, where we will teach from the word of God and pray for those in need and also minister for all this who are sick and want the flow of God’s power,” he said.

He further said that on the Saturday of the event, which is the morning is the Maranatha festival day, the word of God will also be preached and the highlight of that day will have a distribution of food to the underprivileged people,” he said.

speaking on the 2023 general election, the lead pastor said that every Nigerian is concerned about the 2023 general election, but nobody should succumb to fear because the nation also has a purpose designed by God.

“God has a purpose for every human being and every nation under heaven. The Bible makes us know that the Almighty still rules in the affairs of men. That is where I anchor my hope. We must hold on to that hope,  if we do not hold on to that hold that we will survive as a nation, we cannot even begin to think of the next important thing which is peace.

“There is no way we can have a nation without peace or go our normal lives without peace. So, my appeal to all the political players is that there was a peace accord signed. They should adhere to the terms of the peace accord that they signed because it is a covenant between them and us as a nation,” he said.
