A non-governmental organisation (NGO) operating under the aegis of United Strong Organisations Incorporated (USO) has condemned the recent hostility by rival cult groups (Vikings and Klans), where property worth millions of naira was destroyed in the Akam community, Ikom local government area of Cross River State.

The organisation promised to do everything within its reach to broker peace between the two warring factions and ensure that peace returns to the Akamkpa community.

Its president, Prince Paul Effiong, who condemned the act, promised to lead a delegation to the warring communities of Ikom to speak with rival cult gangs so that peace can reign in the communities.

Representing the organisation’s president, the vice president of United Strong Organisations Incorporated, Generalisimor Lawman-Corleone, assured Crossriverians of the organization’s willingness to broker peace between the two rival cult groups (Vikings and Klans confraternity) in the Akam community, where hostility had broken out between the two rival gangs a few months ago.

The organization stated that no community thrives under a hostile atmosphere, calling on members of the rival gangs to engage in a roundtable discussion rather than taking to arms.

“The recent cult clash between the Vikings Confraternity and Klan Confraternity in Akam, Ikom local government area, sent shockwaves throughout the community, leaving a trail of destruction and loss of life.

“The economic and social consequences of such conflicts can be devastating, leaving deep scars that take years to heal.
