Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has commended the manpower development initiative of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), noting that the action has bolstered the morale of personnel and combat readiness in counter-insurgency operations.

Speaking at a seminar organised by the Nigerian Air Force on the theme; “Harnessing NAF Combat Experience in Joint Operations for Doctrinal Development” in Uyo,  Emmanuel, who appreciated the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, for choosing to hold the event in the state, expressed optimism that knowledge garnered would further equip NAF to meet  contemporary security challenges.

He acknowledged the operations and contributions of the Air Force under the watch of Amao in tackling security challenges, and commended the agency for living up to its responsibility of fighting terrorism.

“When I heard of your operations seminar I said this is the right approach and it will correct minor errors as well as make the service optimal. So I believe the Nigerian Air Force will change from security optimisation to something higher.

“For us as a state we are quite elated to be associated with NAF. There is no doubt that NAF has lived up to its statutory responsibilities and objectives over the years.
