Lagos Dominates Medal Table As National Youth Games Heats Up In Asaba

National Youth Games in Asaba have proven to be a true proving ground for future champions, with Lagos, Edo, and defending champions Delta State engaged in an exciting contest for supremacy.

As of Thursday, Team Lagos surged to the top of the medal standings, amassing an impressive total of 61 medals, which includes 33 gold, 15 silver, and 23 bronze.

Edo State is not far behind, claiming second place with a tally of 41 medals, comprising 25 gold, 9 silver, and 15 bronze. Meanwhile, the host state and reigning champions, Delta, currently sit in third with a total of 59 medals—17 gold, 20 silver, and 22 bronze.

Abia State has also showcased remarkable talent, holding fourth place with 24 medals, including 9 gold, 8 silver, and 7 bronze.

The Games have witnessed young athletes both breaking and setting new records, inspiring fans and heralding the rise of potential global stars.

With the closing ceremony set for Saturday, September 6, all eyes are on this thrilling conclusion to see which state will ultimately secure victory.
